On Friday, September 3, 2010, Mississippi native Cyrus Webb---host of Conversations LIVE---will celebrate another milestone in his career: welcoming his 1000th radio guest since the show began in July 2003.
Conversations LIVE began at WMPR 90.1 FM (a station owned by Charles Evers, brother of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers) in Jackson, MS once a week and over the years has evolved to being carried by select radio affilliates and online worldwide through Blogtalkradio.com and other outlets up to six days a week. Though its purpose is to provide dialogue about issues and individuals that are making a difference in the world as well as give a voice to those who have a story to tell, Webb realizes that the show has achieved more than he could have ever expected.
Over the years Webb has talked to some of the biggest names in arts and entertainment along with up-and-coming individuals who are beginning to make a name for themselves, but what has become more important than their stature is the dialogue they create. Webb wants those listening to know that they can achieve the same success as those he has conversations with on each show. He sees himself as living proof of how ambition and purpose levels the playing field.
Take his personal story: a young man who struggled with his own insecurities and place in the world with no college education or formal training in broadcasting---yet he believes his faith in what was possible allowed him to take an idea for a radio show and transform that into a real program that has given birth to a tv show, magazine and book clubs that are all geared to educate and inspire.
On Friday, September 3, 2010 at 1p.m. EST (12p.m. CST./10a.m. PT), Webb will interview celebrity photographer Anthony Tilghman about his journey to success. Immediately following the interview, Webb will be joined by some of the Conversations family that have added their own flavor to Conversations, bringing in sports, faith, fashion and cooking.
